We had a smaller crew this year. My sister's family, who was stateside with us last summer, was back in England this year, and Dan's brother's family never made it down to our spot on Main Street.
From left to right: my dad and mom (in front), Dan's mom and dad (in back), Dan's sister Linda, and Dan and Matthew
Linda didn't get the memo is was sunglasses time...
Our favorite float, from Hanks grocery store, which ended up with an award for the best float
It's not a Fourth of July parade without some revolutionary soldiers!
In the evening, we headed over to my parents for burgers and fireworks.
Here is Matty and Grandpa playing tag in the backyard:
We started the fireworks well before dark. I guess that's the way you do it when the main attraction is only three-years-old!
When we first started, Matthew would just every time the fireworks lit up. =)
Then he got used to it and had lots of fun.
Time for sparklers!
Daddy bought Matthew a monster truck firework as our grand finale.
Afterward, Daddy took out the fireworks parts and Matthew hung onto the truck for the next 24 hours straight. Even took it to church the next morning. =)
Hope you also had a great Fourth of July! Even with all the complaining we do about the status of our country, we are thankful to live in a country with the freedoms that we have. They are so easy to take for granted.
