Clare Rose turned a year old on August 6th. We won't ever forget the morning she arrived. My contractions started almost as soon as the calendar flipped to her due date. Seven hours later, she made her grand entrance sixteen minutes after we arrived at the hospital. She has been -and this is no exaggeration- PURE JOY since then. (Okay, minus from Week 4 to Week 6 of her life.) Not only is she a joy to us, she exudes joy just about every moment that she is awake. (AND, she sleeps flawlessly, so that is an added joy for this mommy!) She almost always has a smile on her face and she has a belly laugh that you just can't help but join. We are so thankful to the Lord for our sweet little Claire Bear!
Here are some pictures from our family birthday celebration.
This first picture is a reenactment from Matthew's first birthday, with Aunt Linda and my dad. Look below to compare!

Here is my Aunt Carol and Dan's Grandma Peggy Rose saying hello to Claire Rose:
Here is Matthew handing his present to Claire. It was one of his own toys, but hey, it's the thought that counts!
Cousin Daniel and Big Brother Matthew, helping open gifts:
Claire's birthday cake: (Matthew had a bear on his first birthday, too.)
Matthew has never been into sweets and practically had to be force-fed his birthday cake for his first three birthdays. Claire, on the other hand, took right to it!
We love you, precious Claire Bear!
