Weekend getaway to Bend!

We just got home from a quick 2-day trip to Bend. Bend is four hours from home (5.5 on a snowy Friday night) and is in the deserty part of Oregon. Yet it is a very popular vacation spot with lots of things to do like hiking, biking, skiing, rafting etc. Well, we didn't do any of those things this weekend. We just stayed at the house and enjoyed being a family. Oh, and we went to Target on Saturday and IHOP on Sunday morning. =) It was so nice to focus on being a family, sleep in, and enjoy some special times together. Matthew did wonderfully in the car, too! Thank goodness he loves books!
We didn't purposefully go on Valentine's Day weekend. We had meant to go last weekend, but Dan had to unexpectedly fly to Houston for his uncle's funeral, so we went THIS weekend. But it ended up being so fun to celebrate Valentine's Day there.

Then, Matthew went to bed and Dan and I enjoyed our traditional candlelit dinner for two of fettuccine alfredo with broccoli. It was so special to do it at the vacation house! We also watched the movie FireProof. If you haven't seen it, we highly recommend it!
